Zenith Bank Plc, which was recently rated among the top 50 global brands, has taken another step towards strengthening its brand presence in the sub-region by opening two additional branches in The Gambia.
The bank said it took the decision to demonstrate the fact that “Zenith Bank is committed to stay and contribute to the socio-economic development of The Gambia.”
The new branches, located in Kanifing, Jimpex Road, Banjul and Brikama in the West Coast Region of the country, were inaugurated, on Monday, by the Managing Director of Zenith Bank Gambia, Mr. Anthony Nwoko.
These two bring Zenith Bank’s total branch network in The Gambia to six.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nwoko said the opening of the two new branches is in line with the bank’s objective to bring banking services to the doorstep of its customers.
Nwoko thanked the bank’s board of directors and the Central Bank of The Gambia for their support and approval to open the branches. He also thanked the bank’s customers for their continuous support over the years.
He also told the gathering that since the bank came into the country, it has introduced various products and services into the market, leveraging on its exceptional customer service delivery. He said this had consistently earned the bank a positive public perception.
According to him, the new branches would deliver a wide range of universal banking services to corporate, commercial, and individual customers, including treasury and financial services, international banking operations and trade finance, as well as funds management.
Nwoko said the bank would also utilise its state-of-the-art Information and Communication Technology (ICT) platform to provide unique electronic banking services, including ATM, Internet banking, and electronic payment solutions to its ever increasing customers.
He disclosed that Zenith is the only bank that issues Master Card in The Gambia and deplored ATMs in all its branches. He said cards could be used both locally and internationally.
