Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Ahmed Iliyasu has been inducted into the Central Working Committee of the Zazzau Emirate Committee on Development (ZECOD) by his Royal Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli.
During a ceremony at the Emir’s palace, the appointment was described as a testimony to AIG Iliyasu’s commitments and contributions to humanity.
Described as a patriot and an accomplished officer, AIG Iliyasu has to his credit, countless achievements during his service in areas of Police-Civil relationship, crime reduction, the war against cultism and drug abuse, internet fraud, and other related crimes. His dedication and commitment to duty were acclaimed as second to none.
According to his citation, some of AIG Iliyasu’s accomplishments during his career are:
– The successful rescue of kidnapped pupils of the Turkish International School in Kano and eventual arrest and prosecution of their abductors in 2018.
– Arrest of three young persons who abducted and killed 10-year-old Ahmed Ado in 2019
– While in Lagos, he led the successful recovery of the body of Late Billionaire Ignatius Adenukwe owner of FIRMAN Generators company.
His citation says: “Throughout his career, AIG Iliyasu made crime-fighting and prevention a priority, as he successfully busted many kidnapping gangs, drugs cartels, armed robbery gangs, and raided cultist dens among many other exploits.
“In his retirement, he will be remembered as that professional policeman that rose through the ranks of the NPF to the Pinnacle of his career and gave his all for the greater good of the Nation and citizens.
“The knowledgeable authorities have it that the reward of hard work is more work, that is why even after your glorious exit of service from the Nigeria Police Force, you are still being sorted after in matters of nation-building and development.
“It is our fervent prayers that Allah in his infinite mercy will continue to guide, protect, and elevate you even as you continue serving humanity in your usual magnanimity.”
