Adeyinka Olaiya, Sao Paulo/
Human rights activist, Mr Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemo aka Sunday lgboho, has received support from a community of Yoruba people and traditionalists in Brazil on the expulsion of Fulani herdsmen who have been terrorizing the Yoruba communities in Nigeria.
According to members of the community, Yoruba people will not tolerate any form of oppression from the Fulani herdsmen who are committing barbaric crimes in their land.
Reacting to the situation, the executive members of the Oodua Progressive Union, Brazil chapter, condemned the attitudes of some Yoruba elders and dignitaries who have done nothing to curb the atrocities that are constantly committed by most of the Fulani herdsmen living in Yoruba-land.
They restated their commitment to continue fighting and struggling until a free Yoruba nation is attained.
Ogbeni Abimbola Olowo-Ife told NewsmakersNG: “Only a betrayal will condemn Sunday Igboho and his decision to send away the Fulani herdsmen who have been terribly terrorizing the peace and tranquility of the Yoruba people of Nigeria.”
NewsmakersNG understands that the Yoruba groups in Brazil have been very active in the cause of the Yoruba people.
On Igboho’s actions, Ogbeni Elijah Gbadebo Awoyemi said, “This is the time we all have to come out and let our voice be heard across the world. I support Igboho.”
He urged Yoruba people to continue fighting for peace in their land.
The Nigerian Yoruba traditionalists in Brazil have also declared support for the actions taken by Igboho against the Fulani herdsmen. They reaffirmed that ISESE is ready to defend the land of their ancestor.
