Scores of art lovers thronged the Art Complex of Nigeria’s first higher institution, Yaba College of Technology on November 17, as the school rekindles the spirit of Art appreciation through a public exhibition of its students’ works.
The event tagged Open House was well attended by renowned artists, scholars, and people from all walks of life.
The department organised the show coordinated by a lecturer at the Painting Department, Mrs Odun Orimolade, to boost students’ morale and increase public awareness for art.
Dignitaries at the event included world-renowned artists, educationists and institutions: Mr. Kolade Osinowo, Lara Ige Jacks, Olu Ajayi, Oliver Enwowu, Adolphus Okpara, Barret Akpokabanyen, Temitayo Ogunbiyi, Goethe Institute, Alliance François, African Artists Foundation, Rukeme Nosirime, Mike Omoighe, Anthony Bandele Ogunde, Kunle Adeyemi, Ademorin Aladegbongbe, Biodun Omolayo, Mike Asukwo, and Damola Adepoju.
Representatives from the Coca-Cola Bottling Company and several primary schools also attended the event.
Academic Staffers at the event were led by the deputy rectors – Dr Olukemi Oyelola (academics) and Mr Taofeek Raheem (administration).
