The Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP), Ogun State Branch, has honoured some Peace Practitioners today to mark the 2019 World Peace Day.
NewsmakersNG learnt that those who were honoured were found to have distinguished themselves in the field of Peace Practice in the state.
Amongst the practitioners are Mr Adesina Adefolahan, an alumnus of the prestigious U.S State Department, International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) and Professor Olubunmi Ashimolowo, a Professor of Agriculture Extension at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
Prof Ashimolowo and Adefolahan are also active members of Penpushing Online Media Platform. Other personalities honoured are Dr.Tope Olaifa, Olori Atinuke Ajede, Lekan Oketokun, B.T.A Babalola, Dr Victor Adesiyan, Mrs Monsurat Sanusi and Demolu Okuneye.
Delivering a lecture at the occasion on the title ‘Emerging Migration Issues in Nigeria: Drivers and Policy Implications, the Ogun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Hammed Abodunrin said that the socio-political upheavals that plagued the country had resulted in massive displacement of people many of whom had migrated out of the concerned states to save their lives and properties.
