A woman identified by her X-handle “@chubbiedivah”, who earlier this year accused Nigerian singer Rudeboy (real name Paul Okoye) of raping a former house-help, has reportedly been arrested and charged with defamation.
According to a video circulating online, the lady was taken into police custody on November 6, 2025 and subsequently arraigned in court on November 10.
The defamation claim dates back to September 2025, when the X user alleged Rudeboy had raped or coerced his domestic worker and suggested the woman was “much younger.”
The post quickly went viral, drawing widespread public attention.
Rudeboy responded angrily, threatening legal action, vowing to “use every necessary means, power, resources and money” to find the account owner and set her up as a “scapegoat.”
After her account was deactivated, the woman reportedly fled her husband’s house. Despite this she was later traced, arrested and charged.
She was released on medical grounds less than 24 hours after detention, after complaining of breathing difficulties and swelling in her legs.
Her legal team asked for time to manage her health before returning to court.
The court initially adjourned the case to November 17, 2025 but the accused failed to appear.
The next hearing is now scheduled for December 1, 2025.
The court has ordered that either the woman or her lawyer must be present without fail.
So far there has been no public statement from the police or Rudeboy’s management to confirm the case.
