Still basking in the euphoria of the shock defeat of the All Progressives Congress by the Labour Party in Lagos State, during Saturday’s presidential election, wife of the Labour Party’s governorship candidate in the state, Dr. Ify Rhodes-Vivour, has urged the electorates to repeat the same feat for her husband, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, in the March 11 gubernatorial election.

Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party polled 582,454 votes to defeat Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, who polled 572,606 votes, in the presidential election in Lagos State.

Mrs Rhodes-Vivour, a molecular geneticist and a graduate of the prestigious University of Oxford and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, made the appeal today in a message she shared on her Twitter handle, @ifyAniebo.

Her tweet reads, Lagos! We showed up for Peter Obi!! Now, let’s multiply this for GRV!!! We will not be intimidated!!!!

Mrs Rhodes-Vivour is also the founding editor of the African Health magazine, which redefines the health of the regular African, as well as the founder of Afroscientric, a platform that encourages and empowers young African women to go into the field of science.
