Wad Up: Wizkid Decks K1 with Wads of Naira at Mother’s Burial Party

A trending video has shown how Nigerian Afrobeat star, Wizkid (Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun) decked K1’s band with wads of mint naira notes as the Fuji musician was performing at the party following the burial of his mother, Princess Juliana Morayo Balogun.

The party was held in Lagos where it is a punishable offence for any person to spray the Naira notes, coins or any other note issued by the Central Bank during social occasions, according to a statement once issued by the police in the state.

An actress and cosmetologist, Oluwadarasimi Omoseyin was recently arrested, paraded, and prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the abuse of the Naira after she was seen in a viral video where the new naira notes were being sprayed.

NewsmakersNG reported that agents of the Lagos Zonal Command of EFCC held Oluwadarasimi for the offence contrary to Section 21 (5) of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Act, 2007.
