The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the arrest of a group of policemen seen in a video destroying the goods in some traders’ shop for flouting the Lagos State government’s restriction order yesterday.
The policemen were among the special team deployed to enforce the restriction order announced by the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to curtail the spread of the coronavirus disease.
The video shows them smashing several cartons of alcoholic beverages and also destroying other goods in some of the affected shops.
A statement shared by the police via @PoliceNG says the IGP has “directed the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Odumosu H. Olusegun to immediately investigate and commence disciplinary actions against the officers involved”.
