The Presidency today released a video of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s address at a town hall meeting with Nigerians living in the U.S. in New York yesterday.
The video featured the part of the address, where the Vice President said that some cases of kidnapping in the country were untrue.
The release of the video followed the widespread outrage that greeted media reports of the event, with many accusing Osinbajo of downplaying the magnitude of the country’s security challenges.
The video was posted to Twitter by the Vice President’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, via his handle, @akandeoj.
Akande posted the video with the caption: “The VP in his own words: see, hear and share.”
