Video: West Africa’s First Female Broadcaster, Julie Coker, Celebrated at 80

A special event was held in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, today, to celebrate the 80th birthday of West Africa’s first female broadcaster and former beauty queen, Julie Coker.

The event, which was hosted by veteran broadcaster and the Ekefa Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oloye ‘Lekan Alabi, held at the auditorium of Omo Ajorosun Club, in Agodi GRA.

The occasion was chaired by another veteran broadcaster, Ambassador Yemi Farounbi.

All the speakers at the occasion, including Alabi and Farounbi, extolled the virtues of the queen of broadcasting in Nigeria, who also holds the traditional title of Yeye Eto of Lagos.
