The Soun designate, Pastor Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, this morning, arrived the palace in Ogbomoso ahead of his installation.
Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, had last Friday, September 2, 2023 approved the appointment Olaoye as the Soun-elect.
The Soun-elect reportedly arrived in Ogbomoso early in the morning in a private helicopter, which landed at Ogbomoso Grammar School, before moving to the palace.
However, an Oyo State High Court sitting in Ogbomoso, yesterday, had restrained Makinde, the Attorney General and the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters either by themselves, agents or officials from presenting any instrument of office in any form of ceremony or issuance of certificate of installation to Olaoye as the new Soun of Ogbomoso land, pending the hearing and final determination of the mandatory injunction already filed before the court.
Justice K.A. Adedokun gave the order while ruling on a motion ex-parte filed by one of the contenders for the Soun of Ogbomoso stool, Prince Muhammed Kabir Olaoye.
Justice Adedokun also gave an order
restraining Pastor Olaoye from parading, representing or presenting himself as the candidate for any ceremony for the issuance of certificate of installation or wear any regalia resembling that of the occupant of the stool of Soun of Ogbomoso Chieftaincy pending the hearing and final determination of the mandatory injunction already filed before the court.
He, however, ordered Prince Muhammed Kabir Olaoye to serve the motion on notice for mandatory injunction on all the 12 respondents in the suit, a condition Newsmakerslive.org could not confirm had been met.
The judge adjourned the matter to September 12, 2023 for hearing of the application.
A video seen by Newsmakerslive.org showed Pastor Olaoye, who was dressed in a white flowing agenda, at the palace in Ogbomoso, while his subjects paid homage to him.
