Emergency workers have called off search and rescue activities for a 22-year-old man who jumped into the lagoon from the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos this morning.
Police authorities in Lagos disclosed this in a tweet by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) via its handle @rrslagos767.
The tweet read, “Search and rescue teams have called off the search for a man who alighted from a cab on 3MB under the guise of trying to pee but dived into the Lagoon at around 11:00 a.m today. All emergency agencies have been on ground with assistance from local divers.”

NewsmakersNG learnt that the man, Daibo Toju Davies from documents found in his personal effects, had boarded a Uber taxi from Gbagada to an unstated destination on Lagos Island.
In the course of the journey, the passenger reportedly told the driver to park on the bridge because he needed to relieve himself.
He, thereafter, disembarked from the vehicle and jumped into the lagoon around 11 am.
