A Kano resident, Khalipha Yusuf, has shared a video on Twitter of himself and family members distributing blankets to destitutes and homeless people in the city yesterday.
Tweeting on the handle, @BabaAy56, Yusuf said he never imagined that Kano has a huge number of homeless people until they embarked on the exercise.
He said one of the people they met sleeping on the street was a woman who had a baby two weeks ago.
The family, he added, had decided to continue the exercise after midnight today and requested others to join them.
His tweet read: “Yesterday I was out with family members distributing blankets on the streets of Kano. I had no idea Kano had so many rough sleepers, met a woman who just had a baby 2 weeks ago & were out in the cold. We will be continuing after midnight, feel free to join and contribute.”
