Jordan has released security footage showing the November 4, 2016 shooting of three U.S. Army Green Berets

Staff Sgt. Matthew C. Lewellen, 27; Staff Sgt. Kevin J. McEnroe, 30; and Staff Sgt. James F. Moriarty, 27 were killed as they tried to enter the al-Jafr base.

Last week, a Jordanian military court sentenced 1st Sgt. Marik al-Tuwayha to life in prison with hard labour.

Al-Tuwayha said he opened fire because he feared the base was under attack, but Jordan’s military said he “acted against orders”.

The six-minute-long video shows a group of vehicles trying to get into the base when someone out of view of the camera starts shooting.

Lewellen and McEnroe, were in the first vehicle and were the first to be hit.

Moriarty and another soldier jumped out of the next two cars to take cover and returned fire with their pistols.

Eventually, they wave their hands in the air to signify they are peaceful.

But Al-Tuwayha comes running out of the base and shoots and kills Moriarity.
