The mother of a 10-year-old female student of Chrisland Schools Lagos (name withheld), who was allegedly raped by fellow students during a trip to Dubai, UAE, has recounted her daughter’s ordeal.

The incident reportedly happened when the students travelled to Dubai to participate in the World School Games between March 10-13. The students won over 30 medals at the event.

NewsmakersNG learnt that the students also shared a video of the incident on social media.

The school, however, claimed the students were engaged in a Truth & Dare Game that went awry, during a period they were supposed to be sleeping.

The school also described the victim as “a major participant in an improper behaviour” and had subsequently placed her on an indefinite suspension.

In the April 14, 2022, letter to the girl’s parent, authorities at Chrisland School in Victoria Garden City said that she took part in “improper behaviour” after playing the truth-or-dare game, describing her as a “major participant”.

“In line with our core values centred on discipline, Chrisland Schools have zero tolerance for any improper behaviour and misconduct,” the school said in the letter signed by its principal Georgia Azike.

But in a trending video, the girl’s mother accused the school authorities of trying to cover up the incident.

She also accused the school of conducting pregnancy tests on her daughter thrice without parental consent, while lying that they took her for covid test.
