Gunmen reportedly attacked travellers on the Abuja-Kaduna expressway today.
An eyewitness shared a video of the incident on Twitter.
She said one person was shot during the incident which took place at a village after Doka, around 4.30pm.
NewsmakersNG learnt that nine students of the Department of French, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, were among the kidnapped victims.
The students were reportedly on their way to the Nigerian Language French Village, in Badagry, Lagos State for an exchange programme.

A former senator from Kaduna State, Shehu Sani, also confirmed the incident.
Sani said in a tweet this evening that the gunmen abducted scores of travellers, including someone he is acquainted with.
