A Twitter user has shared a video showing a group of youths holding a prayer session under a flyover in Abuja, the federal capital territory, this morning as they prepare to embark on another round of protest against police brutality and extortion in Nigeria.
Nigerian youths have been holding peaceful protests in cities across the country for the past five days to demand the dissolution of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a notorious unit of the police responsible for extrajudicial killings, extortion and other acts of brutality against citizens.
They are also demanding urgent and holistic police reforms and the prosecution of officers responsible for the deaths and unjust detention of innocent citizens.
