A bus loaded with corps members returning from orientation camp caught fire inside a filling station in Warri, Delta State, yesterday.
An online video shows the moment the bus belonging to the College of Education, Warri, burst into flames while refuelling at the station, with several corps members trapped inside.
It took the intervention of two hero eyewitnesses to rescue the trapped occupants, with one dragging some out through one of the open windows, while the other scrambled to get a fire extinguisher to douse the flame.
NewsmakersNG learnt that all the corps members escaped from the burning bus before the fire was eventually put off.
Meanwhile, many people on social media have been commending the bravery of the two hero rescuers, who defied the apparent risk to their lives to rescue the trapped occupants, while others are fleeing the scene.
Some of those who commented suggested that the two should be rewarded by the government for their heroic acts.
