A group of civilians today braved the odds to arrest two soldiers accused of stealing a phone in Ojuelegba area of Lagos.
NewsmakersNG learnt that when the soldiers were confronted by passersby after the victim raised the alarm, they attempted to intimidate the crowd by threatening to beat up their accuser.
Some of the eyewitnesses however stood their ground and insisted the soldiers must submit themselves to a body search.
While the confrontation was going on, some of the eyewitnesses also reportedly went to the nearby Abalti military barracks to report the incident.
At a point, one the soldiers managed to flee on his motorbike but was pursued by two men who succeeded in apprehending him at Yaba.
The two soldiers were later handed over to their colleagues who took them to the barracks along with their accuser and some of the eyewitnesses.
