Video: 5-hour Battle with Boko Haram that Claimed Several Soldiers in Borno Yesterday

Ololade Adeyanju/

A Nigerian soldier has shared a video of the over five hours battle between troops and Boko Haram terrorists at an undisclosed location in Maiduguri, Borno State, yesterday.

The unidentified soldier shared the video of the fierce battle on Instagram via the handle, @ijoba201425.

He revealed that several soldiers including their commander fell during the battle, which started a little past 5pm and lasted till 11pm.

He confessed that troops underestimated the strength and determination of the terrorists, a factor that might have contributed to the level of casualty suffered by the Army.

He noted that the harder the troops fought the more the insurgents kept coming like water.

The soldier however restricted access to the video as well as his Instagram account less than 30 minutes after sharing the post.
