Gymnast, Samantha Cerio, has been forced into an early retirement after a horrific fall that saw her break both her legs whilst performing a routine.
The incident has been described as one of the most disturbing things ever seen in live sports, with Cerio dislocating both knees and breaking her legs after a nasty fall.
Unable to move following the horrific landing, Cerio was screaming and crying in agony before tournament officials and teammates rushed to help her.
The severely injured athlete was accompanied by a standing ovation while being carried on a stretcher from the venue.
Cerio afterwards announced her retirement via a post on her Instagram page.
