US Election: Trump’s Niece Urges him to Concede Defeat

Matilda Omonaiye/

President Donald Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, has advised him to concede defeat in the US presidential election.

Trump, the Republican Party candidate, is currently trailing his Democratic Party rival, Joe Biden, both in the number of popular votes and electoral college votes, with vote counting is still ongoing in three states where the latter is ahead.

Biden is expected to emerge victorious with 274 electoral college votes if he wins Pennsylvania, where he’s currently leading the incumbent, without needing to win the two remaining states.

Trump has however insisted on challenging the election result in court.

Ms Trump tweeted today, “It’s time. Call it.” in a apparent appeal to his uncle to accept defeat.

Ms Trump’s 2020 book about the President and the family, ‘Too Much and Never Enough’, sold nearly one million copies on the day of its release.
