President Donald Trump’s campaign has withdrawn a central part of its lawsuit seeking to stop the certification of election results in Pennsylvania.

President-elect Joe Biden had won the key battleground state to help win the White House.

Ahead of tomorrow’s hearing in the case, Trump’s campaign dropped the allegation that hundreds of thousands of mail-in and absentee ballots were illegally processed without its representatives watching.

The Trump campaign however maintains its claim that Democratic voters were treated more favorably than Republican voters in fixing mail-in ballots that were going to be disqualified for a technicality.

In the meantime, Trump tried to walk back an apparent acknowledgement that President-elect Joe Biden won the election.

The US President insisted he would keep trying to overturn the result of the election.

Trump’s earlier comments had given some hope that the White House was ready to begin working on a transition with Biden’s team.

Trump, without using Biden’s name, said “He won” as part of a tweet that made baseless claims about a “rigged” election. But when he saw how his comments were being interpreted as his first public acknowledgment of a Biden victory, he quickly recanted.
