A graduating student of the University of Ilorin (Unilorin) in Kwara State, Ahmad Opeyemi Uthman, has reportedly slumped and died two days after completing his pre-graduation clearance.
NewsmakersNG learnt that the deceased, who was popularly known as Empathy, was cleared as second class upper division graduate of department of Yoruba in the faculty of Arts by the university authorities on Wednesday.
He was however said to have slumped while accompanying his mother who trades in cocoa to Akure, Ondo State for business on Thursday.
He reportedly died before he could be taken to a hospital.
He was buried according to Islamic rites in Ilorin, today.
Several of his colleagues have taken to social media to mourn the deceased, who they described as focused and hard-working.
One of them, Oladele Nasirdeen, wrote on Facebook:
When I firstly heard that you have qone, my mind was full of doubt because I can’t just imaqine
Immediately I confirmed your death, I did not actually know the state of my body system but it seems to be like a car without an enqine
Yes, it is true and certain that every soul shall taste death but you are too younq to be taken away by this time that is why your death burst our brain
People die day by day but yours today brouqht so much of pain
Now, I understand the reason why you normally say “Do the riqht thinq at the riqht time because there won’t be extra time once it is time”
But why is now you left after you just achieved one of the qoals you intended to achieve in your life time?
You are a man of mission but untimely death short your ration which brouqht you to new position
Ahmad, it is not our wish to say bye bye to you by this time because you are such a person we don’t want to miss
