UBA Spokesman Honours Mum at 80

Segun Atanda/

There were many reasons to stay home on December 24.

What with the home preparation for Christmas, the heat waves outside, the multitude stuck at fuel stations due to petrol scarcity in the city, and many more stuck on roads with traffic jams everywhere, it was a day everyone would have loved to stay far from the madding crowd’s ignoble strife.

But no mountain, river, or valley, was high, wide, or low enough to stop many friends and family members of UBA’s Head of External Relations, Mr Ramon Olanrewaju Nasir, who traveled several kilometers to Ado Odo on the outskirts of Ogun State on that day to support a worthy cause.

Ramon’s mother had clocked 80, and the family was out to honour her in a special way by bringing the world home to her.

Several media chiefs and professionals from all walks of life were there to celebrate Ramon’s sweet mother, Madam Musiliat Abeke Nasir.

It was a day the woman would have hugged if only she could get her arms around it.

She was showered with love all day.

There was so much good food, good times and lots of laughter to share as guests had memorable moments with the woman who has always been there to fill Ramon’s spiritual void with constant prayers.

Ramon, right, and some well-wishers at the event.

For some guests, it was a voyage of discovery. Where else in the world would anyone see deformed cars that move sideways like crabs along the road, or the larger-than-life backside of vehicles that have received bottom enlargement surgeries from smugglers?

These are some of the special features you see on the way to Oke Padre in Ado Odo.

Ramon’s Mum enjoying her day.
