Leading international bank, United Bank for Africa Plc, has held what regulatory authorities described as the “most robust” promotion in Ghana to reward its customers.
The bank held the second edition of its popular ‘Awoof’ promotion draw under the aegis of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Ghana limited, at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) branch in Kumasi.
The ‘Awoof’ promotion was launched to reward loyal customers of UBA who deposit or open an account with 200 cedis and keep the amount for 90 days.
Apart from the interest accrued on the savings accounts, qualified customers stand the chance of winning home appliances, cash and the grand prize of a fully furnished luxurious house at East Legon in the capital Accra.
Speaking on the promotion, the Deputy Managing Director of UBA Ghana, Soni Anwal, says the draw is a way to reward loyal customers for believing in the bank for the past 13 years.
“The promotion is a way of rewarding the good people of Ghana who have businesses in the country since 2014 when we got in here. If you are already an existing customer of UBA and you save GHC200 (two Ghana cedis) and above for 90 days, you are automatically qualified for the draw and the day of the draw you are most likely to win one of the numerous prizes that are available from TV sets, to air conditioners, to cash rewards.
“The grand finale which is still coming up is in another three months, 90days from now and everybody who qualifies will be entitled to the grand prize, a three bedroom house, which is fully paid for at East Legon,” he explained.
Soni Anwal also assured that the draw meets all transparency requirements of the National Lottery Authority (NLA).
“The NLA must vet everything; the entire data is in their custody, the entire process. They are the regulators. I mean it’s an authority of the Ghana government, so there is nothing we will do from the conception of the promo, the approval and everything went through them.
“They approved every line of it. We went back and forth and said we want to do this and they came and gave a testimony that this is the most robust promotion they’ve had in Ghana. They’ve had a couple but this ones, in which they are winning at every level, is the most robust ever.”
