Two victims have been rescued unharmed days after they were kidnapped at their homes in Ijede area of Lagos.

According to police authorities a joint task force successfully rescued the victims unharmed, days after they were abducted by gunmen.

NewsmakersNG learnt that the ordeal began on the night of March 26, 2025, when armed kidnappers stormed the Ijede Community, forcibly entering the residence of a 40-year-old man, identified as Dare. In a ruthless act, they shot and killed his security dog before abducting him. The assailants then moved to a neighboring house, where they kidnapped 25-year-old Taiwo, the daughter of a landlord in the area.

Upon receiving reports of the abduction, police officers swiftly mobilized to the scene. Security forces launched an extensive operation to track down the criminals and secure the release of the victims. The operation, which involved a collaborative effort between the police, the Joint Task Force, and other stakeholders, culminated in the successful rescue of Dare and Taiwo late on March 29, 2025.

According to authorities, the victims were found unharmed and have since been reunited with their families. Meanwhile, security personnel are maintaining a strong presence in the area to ensure safety, as efforts to apprehend the perpetrators continue.

Residents of Ijede have expressed relief at the rescue operation but remain on edge as authorities work to dismantle criminal networks in the region. The police have assured the public that further updates will be provided as investigations progress.

Authorities urge citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.
