A United States based education technology company backed by Y Combinator, Miyagi Labs, has offered a brand ambassadorship to Owoeye Daniella, the highest scorer in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Chess in Slums Africa founder, Tunde Onakoya, made the announcement in a post on X, where he congratulated the teenager and revealed that the New York based firm had shown interest in working with her.

“Hi @OwoeyeDaniella, congratulations on your remarkable achievement. I have some exciting news for you as well. A YC-backed education company in New York, @miyagilabs, has just indicated interest in having you as their brand ambassador. Please check your DM and send me your number,” he wrote.

The development has triggered widespread reactions online, with many users praising both Daniella’s academic feat and the growing international recognition of exceptional Nigerian students.

Daniella was recently declared the overall highest scorer in the 2026 UTME by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), with a total score of 372, placing her at the top of the national ranking.

In an interview with TheCable, Daniella shared insights into the preparation strategy that led to her performance, describing a disciplined and technology driven approach to learning.

She revealed that she relied on artificial intelligence tools to summarise study materials and simplify complex topics, while also participating in WhatsApp study groups to maintain consistency and exchange knowledge with peers.

For her, success was shaped more by mindset than environment.

“Big schools don’t define success,” she said, stressing that discipline, focus and consistency mattered more than the reputation of her institution.

The ambassadorship offer highlights the increasing international visibility of high achieving African students within the global education technology space.

Onakoya, widely known for his work with Chess in Slums Africa, has built a reputation for connecting talented young Nigerians with global opportunities and mentorship pathways.

While further details of the Miyagi Labs offer are yet to be publicly disclosed, the development adds an international dimension to Daniella’s academic success story, which continues to gain traction across social media platforms.
