Truck Kills 10 in Edo

A truck crushed 10 commuters to death in Edo State early today.

The accident occurred at Oka market in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of the state around 6am.

According to eyewitnesses, the truck had inexplicably rammed a commuter bus, while it was picking up passengers at a popular intersection.

They said the bus had hardly stopped at the bus stop on Eguasco Street when the truck suddenly rammed it from behind.

Six persons including two children and the bus driver died on the spot. Three other passengers died at a nearby hospital.

The driver reportedly fled the scene immediately, abandoning his truck. It was subsequently set the truck ablaze by a mob.

There has been no official confirmation of the accident.
