Trailer Crushes Parents, 2 Children to Death in Kano

Police in Kano State have confirmed the death of four family members in an accident involving a trailer belonging to a cement manufacturing company and a motorcycle at Dorayi Quarters in Kano city.

Police spokesman DSP Abdullahi Haruna who confirmed the incident said the victims included a 40 year old father, Muhammad Sagir, his wife and their two children.

He said one other person who is yet to be identified sustained injuries.

He explained that the incident occurred on yesterday around 10.30am at Darayi Quarters when the trailer loaded with cement ran into the victims who were returning home from an event.

Haruna added that the victims were rushed to Murtala Muhammad Hospital for medical attention where four of them were confirmed dead.

The police spokesperson said the driver fled the scene to escape mob action while the vehicle was impounded.

Haruna said the police had contacted the company and would soon arrest the fleeing driver.
