Tragedy in Jigawa: Over 95 Killed in Tanker Explosion

A fuel tanker explosion in Majiya village, Jigawa State, has claimed more than 95 lives, with 50 others seriously injured.

The incident occurred at around 12.30am today when villagers attempted to scoop petrol from a tanker that had crashed and spilled its contents.

According to Police spokesperson, DSP Lawal Adams, the tanker was traveling from Port Harcourt, Rivers State to Nguru when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The spilled fuel ignited, leading to the deadly explosion.

Authorities are urging the public to avoid such dangerous situations in the future.
