The Lagos State government has again declared the Lekki-Ikoyi and Lekki-Epe Expressway toll gates toll free for motorists during rush hours tomorrow, July 17.
This was announced this evening by the state governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in tweet on his handle, @jidesanwoolu.
According to the governor, the gates would be thrown open during the rush hours of 6.30am-9.30am and 4.30pm-7.30pm.
He explained that the decision was part of the government’s “traffic simulation survey”, which is aimed at “ensuring a reduction in traffic at major points around Lagos”.
The governor’s tweet read: “Due to a traffic simulation survey, there will be free passage during the rush hours of 6.30am – 9.30am and 4.30pm – 7.30pm tomorrow at both the Lekki-Ikoyi and Lekki-Epe Expressway toll gates.
“We are committed to ensuring a reduction in traffic at major points around Lagos.”
