Matilda Omonaiye/

A loaded fuel tanker fell close to the Murtala Muhammed Airport domestic terminal 2 (MMA2), in Lagos this afternoon.

The tanker reportedly spilled its contents on the road forcing emergency officials to cordone off both sides of the road to avert a major disaster.

Firefighters are on ground to control the situation.

@followlastma in a tweet advised motorists going to the international terminal to use the Oshidi-Apapa Expressway.
