Police authorities in Lagos have dismissed three of their men who assaulted an innocent man in Ojota area of the state last week.

The three policemen, an Inspector and two Sergeants, reportedly tortured the unidentified victim until he fell into coma.

Following online reports of the incident, the Lagos State commissioner of police (CP), Mr. Imohimi Edgal, directed the command’s X-Squad to investigate the reports.

NewsmakersNG learnt that the three policemen, who were attached to the Ogudu Area Command, were subsequently arrested and subjected to an orderly room trial, where they were found guilty of the allegations against them.

Lagos police spokesman, SP Chike Oti, confirmed the development in the following statement issued today:

“In keeping with its promise to regularly update Lagosians about the activities of the Command, the Lagos State Police Command, wishes to inform members of the public that the Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal has dismissed the three police men, comprising of an inspector and two sergeants, who were alleged to have sprayed tear-gas on Mr. Ademuwagun Temitope Solomon, which provoked severe asthmatic crisis in him.

“The incident took place at Chinese town, Ojota area of Lagos state.
