There is no marriage that is immune from storms. No matter your culture, religion, status, background, or colour, anyone who desires a blissful union must be willing to pray.
Prayer alone cannot guarantee a great marriage, but a great marriage cannot thrive without prayer. It must be strengthened with unconditional love, forgiveness, trust, and great faith.
God is the architect of marriage. He resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. When couples choose humility over ego, and empathy over harshness, they create room for God to work in their home.
Tunde and Kemi’s story is a perfect example.
Kemi sat quietly at the dining table, the same place where she and Tunde once shared warm laughter over late-night tea. Now, it felt like a cold, empty space. Every attempt to talk ended in arguments or silence. She was tired, tired of nagging, tired of complaining, tired of trying to fix everything on her own.
That night, instead of another confrontation, Kemi turned to the only One who truly understands marriage God, the Author and Builder of homes.
She knelt beside her bed and whispered through tears, “Lord, I can’t fix this. Please fight for my marriage. Touch Tunde’s heart. Heal our home.”
Heaven heard.
In the days that followed, Kemi stopped trying to win arguments. She spoke fewer angry words and spent more time in quiet prayer. Instead of accusing Tunde, she began thanking God for him , even when it stretched her faith. Gradually, the atmosphere in their home shifted.
Tunde noticed. One evening, he returned late, bracing himself for complaints. But instead he found a warm meal waiting and Kemi’s gentle smile.
“You must be tired,” she said softly. “Eat first. We can talk later.”
Her kindness melted the walls around his heart.
That night, while Kemi slept, Tunde whispered his first honest prayer in months:
“God, I’ve been wrong. I’ve let anger rule me. Help me find my way back to You, and to her.”
Healing didn’t come overnight, but it began. They started praying together again, first awkwardly, then sincerely. Tunde began coming home earlier, and Kemi learned to listen without judgment.
The enemy tried to scatter their marriage, but God restored what was broken , because they chose humility, prayer, and faith.
