President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned a spate of deadly incidents across Nigeria, describing them as “unconscionable” and vowing swift justice for the victims.
In a strongly worded statement, the President expressed deep sorrow and outrage over three recent tragedies: a suicide bombing in Konduga, Borno State; the lynching of 12 wedding guests in Plateau State; and an industrial explosion at a scrap metal site in Kano that claimed five lives.
“The bombing in Borno was a cruel attempt to spread fear,” Tinubu said, pledging urgent relief for survivors through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and reaffirming his administration’s resolve to crush the remnants of Boko Haram. “Our security forces must intensify efforts to hunt down and rout them.”
Reacting to the Plateau massacre, the President condemned the killings as “barbaric” and ordered the Nigerian Police Force to collaborate with other security and intelligence agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice. He called on the Plateau State Government to break the “vicious cycle of violence” and ensure such atrocities never recur.
“Freedom of movement is a non-negotiable right,” the President declared. “We will not tolerate any attempt by anyone or group to curtail that freedom through acts of extreme violence and fear.”
On the Kano explosion, which took five lives at a metal scrap facility, Tinubu extended his sympathies to the affected families and emphasized the need for stringent workplace safety protocols. He ordered a full investigation into the cause and stressed preventive action.
“To the people of Borno, Plateau, Kano, and Kaduna States,” he concluded, “I stand with you in grief and resolve. We will not rest until justice is done and peace is restored across our land.”
As Nigerians continue to mourn the victims of these separate tragedies, the President’s firm stance signals an intensified push for security, accountability, and national unity in the face of ongoing threats.
