President Bola Tinubu has reinforced the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) by approving the appointment of four new members to its Governing Council.

According to a statement received by NewsmakersNG, the strategic move aims to enhance the board’s oversight capacity and drive local content development in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The newly appointed members include Mr. Olusegun Omosehin from the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Engr. Wole Ogunsanya of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN), Mazi Sam Azoka Onyechi representing the Nigerian Content Consultative Forum (NCCF), and Barrister Owei Oyanbo from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

Their appointments fill existing vacancies created by the exit of previous representatives. The NCDMB Governing Council, established under the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act of 2010, plays a crucial role in shaping policies that promote indigenous participation in the sector.

President Tinubu urged the appointees to bring their expertise and commitment to bear in advancing Nigeria’s local content agenda, ensuring that the oil and gas industry continues to support national economic growth.

This development underscores the administration’s focus on strengthening institutions that drive industrial growth and self-sufficiency in critical sectors.

Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, announced the appointments in a statement issued yesterday.
