Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been sworn in as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria along with the Vice President KashimShettima.
Tinubu took his oath of office, after Shettima, at exactly 10.37a.m at the Eagle Square, Abuja, venue of the 2023 presidential inauguration.
The oath of office was administered by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.
Tinubu was accompanied to the oath taking by his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, and then president, Muhammadu Buhari.
Pledging his allegiance to the country, he declared: “I Bola Ahmed Tinubu do solemnly pledge allegiance to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“I will abide by the code of conduct, preserve, protect and defend the constitution of Nigeria, So help me God. ”
A few minutes earlier, Kashim Shettima took his oath of office as Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He was accompanied by his wife.
