President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu have paid glowing tribute to Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), on the occasion of his 84th birthday, describing him as “one of our nation’s greatest gifts” and a “spiritual fortress” for Nigeria.

In a State House press statement issued on Sunday to mark the cleric’s birthday on March 2, 2026, the President and the First Lady praised Adeboye’s decades-long spiritual leadership, philanthropy and national impact.

They said the revered preacher, fondly known as “Daddy G.O.,” has remained steadfast in interceding for Nigeria and its people, noting that his humility and deep wisdom set him apart.

“Pastor Enoch Adeboye… is one of our nation’s greatest gifts: a spiritual fortress, interceding for Nigeria and its people to God Almighty,” the statement read.

The President acknowledged that Adeboye’s contributions extend beyond the pulpit, highlighting his involvement in philanthropy, healthcare, education and economic empowerment initiatives that have impacted millions within and outside Nigeria.

Tinubu and his wife celebrated what they described as “the grace of stewardship and leadership” upon the life of the octogenarian cleric, whose teachings over the past five decades have shaped generations and transformed lives across cultures and borders.

They congratulated Pastor Adeboye and his wife, Pastor Foluke Adeboye, as well as members of the RCCG and the wider Christian community, expressing gratitude to God for what they termed an “exceptional life of impact.”

The President further commended Adeboye’s “unceasing prayers” for the nation and his patriotic zeal and commitment to Nigeria’s progress.

“As Daddy G.O. celebrates this special day, we pray that God Almighty continue to bless him with good health and strength as he continues his good work in the Lord’s vineyard,” the statement concluded.

Pastor Adeboye, who has led the RCCG since 1981, remains one of the most influential Christian leaders globally, with the church’s presence spanning numerous countries across continents.
