The murder trial of the suspected killers of Timothy Adegoke, a Master’s student at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, resumed today at the Osun State High Court 1, sitting in Osogbo, with the prime suspect, Dr. Ramon Adedoyin, coming with handbills in which he cursed popular Ibadan-based broadcaster, Oriyomi Hamzat.

Adedoyin, who owns Hilton Hotel and Resort, Ile-Ife, Osun State, where the deceased died, is standing trial with six of his workers in connection with the death.

Adedoyin and his co-accused, Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwale Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem, Adebayo Kunle, and Adedeji Adesola are facing an 11- count charge bordering on conspiracy, murder, tampering with a corpse, altering of receipt and administration of the extrajudicial oath, among others.

Adedoyin, who insisted he was being unjustly accused and vilified by the media, most especially Hamzat, also extended his curses to the deceased’s elder brother, Gbade Adegoke, an online TV, a Celestial Church prophet, and others who have been at the forefront of advocating for justice in the matter.

Adedoyin flung the handbills containing the curses at a group of cameramen, who had converged at the entrance to the court as he was being led inside.

Adedoyin, who is the founder of Oduduwa University and Oduduwa Polytechnic, also said the curses should revert to him if he is indeed guilty as charged.
