A bloody clash between rival cults this evening reportedly claimed three lives in Idimu, Alimosho local government area of Lagos State.
NewsmakersNG learnt that the clash, between a notorious cult, known as One Million Boys based in Idimu and an unnamed rival cult from Isheri, a neighbouring community, started around 6pm.
The fight reportedly started on Liasu road before spreading to Council Roundabout, which is a major bus stop in the area.
The development created pandemonium in the affected areas, forcing shop owners to hurriedly lock up, while commercial buses avoided the area.
Calm had been restored by a detachment of policemen when NewsmakersNG visited the affected area around 7.30pm.
Commuters were however still stranded at the Council bus stop with only a handful of buses back on the road.
Some traders who spoke with NewsmakersNG expressed the hope that policemen would remain on ground through night for fear that the combatants could resume their clash later tonight or tomorrow morning.
Police are yet to confirm any casualty in the clash.
