Suspected hackers have reportedly breached the system of a new generation bank in Nigeria (name withheld) stealing N460 million.

The hackers had successfully jerked up the balance in a customer’s account from N781,000 to N466 million before the alarm blew.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today arraigned five suspects in a Kaduna High Court over the crime.

The suspects were identified as Bashir Abdullahi Mohammed, Ucue Ogenyi, Adefila Taofile Kayode, Rabiu Aliko Lawal and Mmadu Mathew.

They were arraigned before Justice Mohammed Tukur on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

They were reportedly arrested following a petition to EFCC by the bank’s management.

The suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges and were remanded in EFCC custody pending the determination of their bail application.
