Malik Yahya/

Terrorists riding on more than 200 motorcycles stormed a village bordering Zamfara and Katsina States and attacked the position of the Nigeria Customs Service.

They killed at least eight persons in the attack that happened in the early hours of Sunday.

According to an eyewitness, the terrorists also killed a bus driver along the road near the Customs position but did not know what happened to the passengers.

Isa Danbaba, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, Katsina Command, confirmed the incident and stated that none of the 12 officers stationed in the position was harmed.

Danbaba stated that the Command received intelligence of the terrorists’ arrival, noting that operatives of the Command could not confront them due to their large number.

According to a source who spoke to the BBC Hausa Service, the terrorists moved to Zamfarawa and killed eight people.

In Walawa village, they also kidnapped an unknown number of women and children.
