She was reportedly separated from her dad around 4pm when he gave her money to take a bus home at Good Homes Estate in Isheri-Idimu area, while he waited to buy one more item in the market.

She had not been seen since then.

She hails from Iquita, in Oron Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

The family told NewsmakersNG that they reported her disappearance at the Idimu Police Station same day the incident occurred.

The have also been using different social media platforms to solicit help in finding her.

One of such is the Twitter post below by her elder sister, Hannah Abang:

Hannah told NewsmakersNG in an interview that Mary left home on the day of the incident with their dad to buy some stuff at the Iyana-Ipaja market.

She said after they had made all their purchases, except for one item that proved very scarce, their father asked Mary to go home while he waited at the market to see if he could still get the item to buy.

She said when their dad arrived home later in the day, Mary had still not returned.

This prompted the family to file a report at the Idimu Police Station in case she was involved in an accident, Hannah said.

She said Mary had never ran away from home before and does not stay out late.

Unfortunately, the family has no means of trying to reach Mary because she does not have a phone, she further disclosed.

When asked about their mum, Hannah said she has been indisposed and still receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital within the metropolis.
