Armed robbers on the prowl in Lagos have reportedly swept the bank account of renowned musician, Tee Mac Omatshola Iseli, after an attack on his personal assistant (PA) sent to withdraw money at a branch of GTB.
According to Tee Mac, the robbers struck at about 9.30am on Friday, when they beat his P.A. to a pulp as he was returning from an errand at the bank.
The robbers reportedly snatched the cash found on the P.A., then they brought out a POS machine, accessed Tee Mac’s account with his ATM card and swept it clean.
Tee Mac confirmed that the robbers also went away with his iPhone of his P.A.
Tee Mac, a former President of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) said, “I had a bad robbery incident just 2 hours ago – 9.30 am. I sent my PA to GT bank to draw money for my household. He was looking for a bike while walking. Three guys cornered him, one with a gun. They beat him up, took the cash, stole his iPhone and asked for the ATM card, put the gun to his head and he gave them the pin. My P.A. took a bike to the nearest police station, with pain and the police did not attend to him. He came back home and collapsed. He is being treated now at my hospital and I am at the useless police station. They (armed robbers) used a POS to empty my Naira account with GTB. Lagos has become dangerous. Let everyone be very vigilant.”
