Tanker Explosion Kills 8 in Kogi

Eight persons were feared dead after a fuel tanker burst into flames after suffering a brake failure in Felele area of Lokoja, Kogi State today.

Eyewitnesses said four tricycles, two motorcycles, three cars and a bus were also burnt as a result of the fire while many people were also injured

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in a statement said “the accident occurred around 0850hrs on November 18, 2019 at Felele along Lokoja-Abuja road as a result of brake failure on the part of a white-coloured petrol-laden tanker with registration number JEG141XA DAF”.

Firefighters have managed to put out the fire but most businesses in the area are still closed.
