Days after announcing his political aspiration and a month after taken delivery of his bouncing baby boy, the spokesman for Sokoto State governor took his last breath today.

Imam’s Facebook post announcing the birth of his baby boy a month ago.

Imam Dalhatu Imam, who served twice as spokesman to Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, the Sokoto State governor and former Speaker, House of Representatives reportedly succumb to pneumonia at Nizamieye Turkish Hospital in Abuja early today.
He was 44.
The late Imam, who studied Public Relations at Bayero University, Kano, was celebrated as one of Arewa’s 100 people of the year 2016.
Imam was once the politics editor at This Day newspapers.
Friends have described him as a Hausa/Fulani man who loved Niger Delta cuisine.
Ima Niboro has this to say about him on Facebook: “The last time I saw him alive was mid 2017 at the Niger Delta kitchen in Abuja. I exclaimed, “This Hausa man, what are you doing where we eat Banga soup and starch!
“He smiled his broad and generous smile, and said, ‘Bros, I love the food here’. We sat down and chatted about everything and nothing. When we were to leave he reached for the bill. I said no, let me take care of this, I have more important things for you to do. But he insisted, saying I will do this, and still do those important things you want me to do. That was the kind of person he was.
“He planned to contest the House of Reps election in his home state, Taraba. Now he is gone. And in his place, loud echoes of silence.
“Rest In Peace brother. Rest In Peace!”
