Suspected Ritual Killer Escapes from Police Custody

Oyo State Police Command has confirmed that the prime suspect in the serial killings in Akinyele local government area of Ibadan, Sunday Shodipe, has escaped from its custody.

A statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, says that the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Nwachukwu Enwonwu, has implored the general public to be on the lookout for, arrest and immediately inform men of the command whenever the suspect is sighted.

The suspect was arrested on July 17 in Ibadan and charged to court alongside two other persons, but were remanded in police custody.

The statement says that the suspect escaped from custody on August 11.

The statement appeals to anyone with credible information regarding the whereabouts of the suspected assailant not to hesitate in passing same to the command in order to assist in apprehending him.
