Lagos police spokesman, DSP Bala Elkana

A 36-year-old man, nicknamed Spartacus, was arrested during a police raid of a suspected criminal hideout in Lagos at the weekend.

According to Lagos State police spokesman, DSP Bala Elkana, Spartacus, whose real name is Seyi Ogundele, was arrested with another suspect identified as 30-year-old Ogunmola Akintola aka T-90.

Elkana revealed in a statement that the men suspected to be armed robbers were arrested by one Insp. Jacob Shanvoedu and five others attached to Ejigbo police station in a joint operation with one Insp. Yemi Ojumoola and five others attached to Raiders State CID, Panti, Yaba, who stormed a criminal hideout at Coker junction by NNPC Road. “The suspects were involved in a series of armed robberies within Ejigbo and environs. The investigation is ongoing and the suspects will be charged to Court,” Elkana stated.
